My first year at SVA I started shooting video on Hi-8, digital 8 and Mini DV. I edited my footage in Final Cut Pro and made some interesting short videos. Second year I took a two semester class called Dynamic Media. In this class we used After Effects and Commotion to create more animated works. At the beginning we used mostly Illustrator files, then we worked our way to Photoshop files and eventually digital video. Below are some of the projects I did during the first semester.

Video files are in Windows Media Video 9 format.

(If you have problems playing the video because you are not running Windows, e-mail me.)

Super Eurobeat is a line of various artist club cds in japan. They are collections of music that developed out of Italo Disco. Its very very hyper. All of the 3D was done in After Effects.

This video was done as a commercial to encourage tourism in New York City. The shoot for this started in the day...but due to parking problems with Zack's car it turned into a purely night time shot. Even that shot at the beginning was done as the sun set.

For my final project in Dynamic Media I made a preview for an original movie called R00T. Basically its about a sort of alien invader with unexplainable powers who likes nothing better than blowing stuff up. I nick named this character Evil Zee, and he is played by my friend Zack. Basically my concept was that he had gained "root" to our word. The world is not some kind of illusion or computer system in this story, gaining root was more of a metaphor.

I am using the same character in this, Evil Zee, in my thesis animation. His powers are more limited in the animation, but he has the same mannerisms. Some how this character will be linked to Zee from Realm of Legend but I have not worked out the details yet.
